Who are Hypocrites?

Bismillahi Rahmani Raheem
Hypocrites are those who mix the truth with falsehood and or those who hide the truth knowingly!
Quran 2:42 : And do not mix the truth with falsehood or conceal the truth while you know [it].
Narrated ‘Abdullah bin ‘Amr Radiyallanu Anhu:
The Prophet (alaihiswalathu wa salam) said, “Whoever has (the following) four characters will be a hypocrite, and whoever has one of the following four characteristics will have one characteristic of hypocrisy until he gives it up. These are: (1 ) Whenever he talks, he tells a lie; (2) whenever he makes a promise, he breaks it; (3) whenever he makes a covenant he proves treacherous; (4) and whenever he quarrels, he behaves impudently in an evil insulting manner.(See Hadith No. 33 Vol. 1)
{Volume 3, Book 43, Number 639: Sahih Bukhari}
Narrated Abu Huraira (Radiyallaahu `anhu) that the Messenger of Allah (Sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam) said,
“The worst people in the Sight of Allah on the Day of Resurrection will be the double faced people who appear to some people with one face and to other people with another face.”
Sahih Al Bukhari Volume 008, Book 073, Hadith Number 084
HYPOCRISY AND TERRORISM:Why Terrorists Hide their face?

On the authority of Al-Nawwas bin Samaan, that the prophet said:
"Righteousness is good morality, and wrongdoing is that which wavers in your soul and which you dislike people finding out about." related by Muslim (Imam Nawawi in 40 Hadith)
Refrain from Hypocrisy
Hadiths:Sahih Al Bukhari (Al Adab)
  • Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, “Whoever does not give up false statements (i.e. telling lies), and evil deeds, and speaking bad words to others, Allah is not in need of his (fasting) leaving his food and drink.”
  •  Narrated Anas bin Malik: Allah’s Apostle said, “Do not hate one another, and do not be jealous of one another, and do not desert each other, and O, Allah’s worshipers! Be brothers. Lo! It is not permissible for any Muslim to desert (not talk to) his brother (Muslim) for more than three days.”
  • Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah’s Apostle said, “If a man says to his brother, O Kafir (disbeliever)!’ Then surely one of them is such (i.e., a Kifir). “
  •  Narrated Malik: Similarly as above (156) adding, “Who believes in Allah and the Last Day should talk what is good or keep quiet.” (i.e. abstain from dirty and evil talk, and should think before uttering).
  • Narrated ‘Abdullah: The Prophet said, “Everyone will be with those whom he loves.”
  •  Narrated ‘Abdullah bin Mas’ud: A man came to Allah’s Apostle and said, “O Allah’s Apostle! What do you say about a man who loves some people but cannot catch up with their good deeds?” Allah’s Apostle said, “Everyone will be with those whom he loves.”
  • Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, “Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, should serve his guest generously; and whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, should unite the bond of kinship (i.e. keep good relation with his Kith and kin); and whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, should talk what is good or keep quit. “
  • Narrated ‘Abdullah bin ‘Umar: Allah’s Apostle said, ‘If anyone says to his brother, ‘O disbeliever  Then surely, one of them such.”
  •  Narrated ‘Abdullah: The Prophet said, “Truthfulness leads to righteousness, and righteousness leads to Paradise. And a man keeps on telling the truth until he becomes a truthful person. Falsehood leads to Al-Fajur (i.e. wickedness, evil-doing), and Al-Fajur (wickedness) leads to the (Hell) Fire, and a man may keep on telling lies till he is written before Allah, a liar.”
  • Narrated Abu Huraira: I heard Allah’s Apostle saying. “All the sins of my followers will be forgiven except those of the Mujahirin (those who commit a sin openly or disclose their sins to the people). An example of such disclosure is that a person commits a sin at night and though Allah screens it from the public, then he comes in the morning, and says, ‘O so-and-so, I did such-and-such (evil) deed yesterday,’ though he spent his night screened by his Lord (none knowing about his sin) and in the morning he removes Allah’s screen from himself.”
  • Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, “Beware of suspicion, for suspicion is the worst of false tales; and do not look for the others’ faults and do not spy, and do not be jealous of one another, and do not desert (cut your relation with) one another, and do not hate one another; and O Allah’s worshipers! Be brothers (as Allah has ordered you!”)
May Allah protect us from Hypocrisy..ameen
