Q&A How to get closer to Allah?

Assalamu alaikum

My name is Muhammed*****, I  from India, (kerala).presently working in Saudi Arabia.I like to know more about Sufism, and more I like to purify my bad mind, I used to pray 5 times and i will do the maximum sunnath prayers before and after all 5 times and I started fasting from my childhood, but still I am not satisfied with my connection to my god. I am from a sunni family and I believe in that.

Please help me to get more thaqva  in my daily habits

Bismillahi Rahmani Raheem

Before we ask to get more close to Allah we must look our self how much we are closer to Prophet Muhammad alaihiswalathu wa salam and his rightly guided successors and his ahlul bayt.

we all are trying to be more closer to Allah , but becoming more close to Prophet alaihiswalathu wa salam make us more close to Allah, becoming more closer to those who are in authority among us (4:59- Awliya Allah and Ahlul Bayt-the pious ones) make us more close to Nabi Sallallahu alaihiw wa sallam.
more closer means closer in our heart and mind and following their footsteps and engaging in their spiritual associations(Zikr Halqa) and leaving bad friendship.

We must try to find a good Jamath of Sufis and keep the company of people of Zikr.

So we must attach ourself with Awliya Allah and  Ahlul Bayt , that time we become more God conscious  that time we are going to be more concerned about Allah and His Prophet alaihiswalathu wa salam, than this world, our family and our own self.

There is a proverb in Malayalam language: "The stone that attached to Jasmine tree have the fragrance of Jasmine flower"

So be attached to Awliya Allah if you want to be seek nearness to Allah, be attached to ahlul bayt if you want to be close to Prophet alaihiswalathu wa salam.

Prophet alaihiswalathu wa salam did not leave us with out guidance and guides. Guidance is Quran and guides are Imams and Shaykhs of Ahlul Bayt, Shaykhs of Tasawwuf and awliya Allah.

Hadith jami at-Tirmidi ,Darussalam Publications
-Hadith Number 3788: The Messenger of Allah (alaihiswalathu wa salam) said: "Indeed, I am leaving among you, that which if you hold fast to them, you shall not be misguided after me, one of them is greater than the other:The Book of Allah is a rope extended from the sky to the earth, and my family -the people of my house-and they shall not split until they meet me at Hawd, so look at how you deal with them after me" (Sahih)

The explanation of this hadith can be read at:
http://www.naqshabendi.blogspot.com/2013/09/explaining-quran-verse-17-path-of-those.html

Sahih Bukhari, Book 9, Number 251
"Whoever obeys me, obeys Allah, and whoever disobeys me, disobeys Allah, and whoever obeys the ruler I appoint, obeys me, and whoever disobeys him, disobeys me."

So we must know that Allah and His Prophet alaihiswalathu wa salam will be satisfied only when we follow those who are in authority among us. Those who are in the grace of Allah and are guided, they are the people we must accompany and follow wholeheartedly.

Quran 89:27-30 [To the righteous it will be said], "O reassured soul,
Return to your Lord, well-pleased and pleasing [to Him],
And enter among My [righteous] servants
And enter My Paradise."

Returning to Allah and seeking His nearness is only possible when you follow the righteous servants (awliya Allah/Imams) just as stated in Quran!

Still so many are sleeping in darkness, they do not want to reach to Fajr (Awakening station), relating to Surah Fajr!

So no one is going to Allah directly, nor anyone go to heaven directly, but Muslims enter in paradise with their leaders and Imams, just as people of the hell will enter in it with their leaders!

So the above Quran verse referring to enter to be with the righteous ones. Insha Allah when we follow them, we will find peace and assurance in this world and hereafter.

The truth is, today we are not even willing to make efforts to be closer to our neighbors  to ahlul bayt and to awliya Allah and pious ones!, but we are thinking we can get closer to Allah without fulfilling the obligations to Allah!
Allah will change our situation when we change our self .
Allah Will not change the situation of a nation until they change themselves-Quran

Some groups (Salafis and Wahabis) saying: Allah is in Sky, So we can't get closer to Allah who is so far from us?
Well, that belief does not make any sense to our logic!, because Islam teach when we are in prostration we are closer to Allah, therefore to be close to Allah means to keep our heart always in spiritual prostrations.

Otherwise we would need NASA and Russian space station to go to space and seek to be closer to Allah, ahh, you must wake up!

May Allah help us to get more close to Him..ameen
Wa salam alaikum wa Rahmathu Allahi wa Barakathu hu

  2. problem is the mind. The mind is not clean yet. The more the mind is clean more you get closer to ALLAH. Allah is there nearer than your jugular vein . But the mind pack of falsehood does not allow to recognize the truth.
Mind must be free from : LUST, GREED, ANGER, JEALOUSY, WRONG DESIRES, PRIDE, EGO, SELFISHNESS, INJUSTICE, CRUELTY
